Watching the first few minutes of toy story it gives us a lot of clues on many different aspects of the film including the genre the types of charactes, theme and even the mood of the film, however in order to find out these different things we have to look at different parts such as the sound camera work and voices and music.
Theme- when looking at what the theme is we have lots of different things coming into the shot to tell us and help us make up our mind about the type of film it is, the first thing we hear Is a song and it is a very jolly film as the song is “you’ve got a friend in me” we can also tell that there is going to me some comedy in the film as we get many clues about this, the first clue we get is when there is a picture of mr, potatoe head saying wanted for a billizion dollars then further when they say empty the safe and they shake the pig up and down, the film is also an animation and an adventure, we can tell even though the first scene is supposed to be a hostage scene it is kind of put to a side and made comedy and good fun when all the characters are smiling and are nice bright colours so for this reason this is what makes it a children’s film the camera work is a extreme close up but is tracking from one shot to the next so everything links there are also many effects such as the animation and the realistic of it which makes the film such a good one
